Walking for Fitness and Fun: Join Sharon Stewart on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1PM to 2PM in the Municipal gym for fun walking with music and friends. Plus, keep an eye out for incentives and prizes to inspire you. This is a FREE program.

Preschool Playworld: Preschool kids and their adult counterparts are welcome to visit the Newport Municipal Building on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30-11:30 AM for the most spectacular indoor playground for young kids. Host Donna Bennett provides a clean, safe, enjoyable experience for all who attend. Activities, special guest appearances, healthy snacks, and more make this the best playworld this side of Memphremagog. Starts October 5th, runs until early May. Closed for holidays and some snow days. Cancellations posted on the website and our facebook page.
Open Gym: The gym doors will be unlocked and everyone is invited to use the space for basketball throughout the winter months on Sundays from 12PM to 3PM. Volunteer Vaughn is keeping the scene clean and allowing players of all ages and abilities to partake in some friendly games.
Sharon Stewart Insanity Workouts: Every Saturday from 8-9am in the Newport Municipal Building gymnasium. Join Sharon and her legions of fitness followers for a workout that will make you insanely fit. No preregistration needed, just show up and get fit!
Pickle Ball: Playing Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Municipal Gym from 9-11AM and Fridays from 6-9PM. Open to anyone interested. All levels welcome. School Break Camp: School's out means that camp's in. Whenever there is no school there is a fun day planned with Newport Parks & Recreation. Hands-on activities, awesome field trips, and lots of time to play with friends! Next camp day is scheduled for February 22 - March 1. Parents can register kids for these camps 2-3 weeks prior to the program start date. Enrollment options include daily rates or full session packages. Recreation Committee Meetings: The Newport Recreation Committee hosts meeting once a month to discuss upcoming events, department policy, long and short term goals and more at their informally formal meetings in the Newport Municipal Building. The meetings are typically scheduled for the first Monday of each month at 5:45pm. The meetings are open to anyone , but to become a member, one must be a Newport resident. Newport Senior Center and Forever Young Club: Offering lunches every Wednesday as well as various other activities/trips/events/games/etc. For more information call 334-6029.
