JOIN THE NEWPORT RECREATION COMMITTEE
Now accepting letters of interest from candidates interested in joining the Newport Recreation Committee. Members are appointed by the Newport City Council annually in March for two year terms. To apply for a seat, formal education is not necessary, but some demonstrated experience or involvement in volunteerism, parks and recreation programs, projects or planning is preferred. SEASONAL SLIP & MOORING PAYMENTS DUE FEBRUARY 28
Remaining balances for seasonal slips and moorings are due no later than February 28, 2019. Failure to settle seasonal balances by the payment deadline will result in the reallocation of the mooring or slip assignment beginning March 1, 2019. Read more...

OUTDOOR ICE RINKS OPEN FOR THE SEASON!
The ice rinks in Gardner Memorial Park are now open for the season. We have opened the public rinks, hockey rink and skating in the bay on Lake Memphremagog. Skate Shack hours are 3:00-8:00PM Mon-Fri and noon-8:00PM on Saturday & Sunday for free skate rentals, hot cocoa and warm restrooms. GARDNER PARK RESTORATION PROJECT
Centrally located, Gardner Park is one of Newport City’s most heavily used recreation facilities. While the park is regularly enjoyed by many, the facility is challenged by aging infrastructure in need of restoration to meet safety standards and the contemporary needs of our community. Community Bingo will be hosted on the 3rd Monday of each month in the Community Center, located on the ground floor of the Newport Municipal Building. Open to all ages from 12:30-3:00PM.
