Newport Recreation Committee
The Recreation Committee serves as an advisory board to the Newport City Council on issues pertaining to parks and recreation. The group assumes a role in developing sense of community and enhancing quality of life by influencing the recreational future of Newport. At monthly meetings we discuss upcoming events, facility improvements, long and short term goals, volunteer opportunities and much more. Meetings are about two hours long and are held at the Newport Municipal Building on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00-8:00PM.
Consider this a formal invite to any and all who share our passion for parks and recreation! All meetings are open to the public with community participation encouraged. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday October 17, 2019 from 5:30-8PM.
